gotemcoach: POINT GUARD The phrase “pass-first point guard,” is completely ridiculous.  Point guards are supposed to pass first.  “Pass-first point guards” are just called “point guards.”  Guards who don’t “pass first” are called “shooting guards.” And nobody, in the history of the NBA, passed as effectively as the Utah Jazz’s John Stockton. In 1991-92, John Stockton had one game with only 3 assists (in a 32-point loss to Portland, where Stockton was pulled early, after only 30 mins).  In the other 81 games, John Stockton had 8 assists or more, including three with 20+ assists, and twenty-eight contests with 15+ assists.In 1992-93, the fewest assists John Stockton had in a game was 5.In 1993-94, John Stockton never handed out fewer than 7 assists in a game (and only had 3 games with that many).  He had 66 games with double digit assist totals. Also, if you notice, John Stockton walks on air. #GotEmCoach
